A podcast studio in Madhya Pradesh designed for creative flexibility, transforming a compact room into a versatile, multi-set recording space Proactive I COMMERCIAL | MADHYA PRADESH Scope : Interiors (Consultancy) Area : 400 sqft Status : Completed in 2023 Design Team : Ayush Jagnani, Utsav Agrawal Budget : Basic When the clients approached us with this project, their brief was simple—to design a podcast recording studio that would be flexible enough to support diverse content themes and audiences. Housed within a moderately-sized room within their existing facility, this project necessitated strategic spatial planning to optimise versatility with a compact footprint. This concept formed the basis for our design approach. We, as designers, often visualise all the surfaces uniting to form a single space. This perspective is exactly what we upturned in the process. The space was divided into four different and distinct walls. These four walls were looked at and uniquely treated as a standalone canvas, a unique visual story in itself. Three of these walls serve as a trio of interchangeable backdrops for shoots—one leans on soft, organic forms and soothing neutrals; another pops with retro-inspired graphics and hues of yellow and orange; and the third brings in contemporary geometry and muted monochromes. The fourth anchors a space with a minimalist tone for office purposes, serving as a workspace for editing and coordination. With three unique furniture setups styled across these walls, the brand unlocks a total of nine distinct studio setups. This approach enables exceptional and seamless versatility to various themes, topics, moods and format of the podcasts. Proactive I isn’t just a recording and podcast studio but a storytelling engine for an educational firm that promotes creativity. This space, through its interior, crafts a stage to support voices, ideas and stories that educate and inspire while maintaining visual richness and functional clarity. • Nayak's Residence | Arth Design

A terracotta-and-concrete home in Satna that balances openness and privacy with a central courtyard and serene, family-focused interiors Nayak's Residence RESIDENTIAL | MADHYA PRADESH Scope : Interiors + Architecture (Consultancy) Area : 4500 sqft Status : Completed in 2025 Design Team : Ayush Jagnani, Nitika Bajaj, Utsav Agrawal Structural Consultant : Vishal Vishwakarma PMC : Studio Blukey Budget : Basic The brief called for a home which could comfortably accommodate three generations—the client, his parents and his child—while also hosting visiting family members. They wanted a space that allowed togetherness and interaction yet offered privacy and personal comfort to each inhabitant. Situated in a serene lane of Satna, Madhya Pradesh, the residence celebrates earthy aesthetics and thoughtful design. The exterior features warm terracotta tiles juxtaposed with stark concrete edges, seamlessly blending natural textures and contemporary geometry. This balance grounds the home in its landscape while giving it a distinctly modern character. The upper-level features two lavishly-sized windows, breaking the terracotta-clad monotony and inviting ample natural light, creating a dynamic interplay of volumes. Subtle accents of blue in the metal fixtures, such as the gate and grilles, add a contemporary layer that complements the earthy tones. The central courtyard forms the heart of the home, bringing in abundant natural light and ventilation across both floors. The contemporary re-interpretation of the traditional Indian elements makes the design stand out. Terracotta jalis in patterned grids, across the skylights and balconies, cast shifting shadows that animate the interiors throughout the day. These perforated screens also serve as a filter for harsh sunlight while maintaining privacy and climatic comfort. A multipurpose recreational room on the upper storey acts as a lively family hub. Anchored by a table tennis setup and flanked by an integrated kitchenette, cozy reading nooks and an aquarium, this space blurs the boundary between leisure and utility and offers a tucked-away hub for family bonding and relaxation. • Jain's Residence | Arth Design

A Delhi home that balances privacy and street presence through tropical tones, sun-screened façades and interiors crafted for warmth and ease Jain's Residence RESIDENTIAL | DELHI Scope : Interiors (Consultancy) Area : 2500 sqft Status : Completed in 2022 Design Team : Ayush Jagnani, Rohit Jain, Vandana Jain Fitout : Ayush Buildtech Photographer : Lalatendu Nayak Budget : Mid-Range Located on a prominent arterial road, the building posed an intriguing architectural challenge that required a seamless interplay between commercial visibility and residential privacy. The design achieves this equilibrium through a thoughtful play of layers, light and texture. The southern facade is meticulously treated with a combination of screens, vertical wooden slats and layered balconies to safeguard it from harsh and highly exposed sunlight. This not only offers thermal and acoustic comfort but also shields the interiors from heat gain. The material palette, which includes textured brick, vertical wooden slats and perforated jaali, evokes an earthy and tactile aesthetic that anchors the building’s presence in its urban context. The project focused on the interior of the floor inhabited by an elderly couple seeking a low maintenance space which radiates warmth and subtlety. Through the use of recessed lighting, carved wooden cabinetry, woven cane panels, hand-picked upholstery and other contemporary and traditional elements, the interior creates a serene and inviting ambience. In addition to fostering a comfortable living space, the use of an accent wallpaper, pastel hues and adequate seating arrangement adds depth, familiarity and cultural richness, blending traditional sensibilities with contemporary aesthetics. In this project, tropical warmth tempers urban grit and design truly serves those who inhabit it. The result is a serene, human-centered home that reflects warmth, restraint and timeless character within a contextually sensitive architectural shell. • Bhatt's Residence | Arth Design

A hilltop residence in Champawat that blends stone, wood and light to frame panoramic views and create a warm, timeless dialogue with the natural landscape Bhatt's Residence RESIDENTIAL | UTTRAKHAND Scope : Architecture (Consultancy) Area : 4500 sqft Status : Completed in 2022 Design Team : Ayush Jagnani, Shoaib Kamili, Utsav Agrawal Fitout : Antrix Construction Budget : Basic Located in the thick of the serene hills of Champawat, the residence is visualised to synchronise practical needs and an interconnection with nature. The architectural approach focuses on the site’s most alluring asset: the panoramic view of the expanse of hills and fields. The facade embraces large fenestrations and screening elements which seamlessly integrate the visual and the verdant surroundings, and openness and enclosure. The balcony, generously proportioned, simply furnished and oriented to soak in uninterrupted views, reflectively extends the interior. The breathtaking hill view is amplified through the use of exposed brick, lime-washed concrete and potted tropical plants. The staircase, unlike the convention, is reimagined as a sculptural centerpiece that elevates the spatial experience. Bathed in natural light which filters through the perforated concrete walls and vertical fenestration, it transforms circulation into an experience of light and movement. The green railings juxtapose raw concrete and textured block walls, offering a vibrant pop of colour that breaks the monotony and infuses the space with warmth and vibrancy. Balancing restraint and expression, the residence embodies a quiet modernity rooted in context—a home that feels both grounded in its setting and elevated in its design intent. • Design Process : Crafting the MAC Blinds Experience Centre | Arth Design Blog

An immersive Experience Centre redefining blinds as art — where design, material and brand storytelling converge to create a refined retail environment Design Process : Crafting the MAC Blinds Experience Centre Ayush Jagnani 4th January 2025 • 5 min read Since its inception in 1984, MAC Blinds has become India's premier manufacturer of window covering solutions. We were fortunate to be entrusted with this project. Upon receiving the project brief and understanding the site, we recognized a significant opportunity to unleash our design creativity, though it also presented certain challenges. We aimed to redefine blinds and window coverings as elements beyond mere functionality. Please keep this perspective in mind. The Excite Zone: The entrance areas were designated as this zone. Its primary function was to create strong focal points, leaving a lasting first impression of the products and encouraging users to explore further. The Engage Zone: The display areas fell within this zone. Its main purpose was to create interactive displays that not only showcased the products but also provided information and education on their various aspects. The Select Zone: The office and meeting spaces were categorized into this zone. The primary function was to establish small discussion areas where clients could be assisted by sales consultants in narrowing down and finalizing their selections. With the spatial layout finalized, our focus shifted to defining the aesthetic language of the space. Exploring a spectrum of design styles, we sought an approach that would harmonize with our concept note—positioning the coverings as art pieces. Clarity emerged as we returned to this vision, opting for a subdued architectural envelope. A muted palette and restrained materiality were employed to create a minimalist backdrop, ensuring the vibrant colors and intricate textures of the blinds could take center stage as the true focal elements. Even the signage was meticulously integrated as self-on-self built-in elements, reinforcing the cohesive and understated aesthetic. This deliberate restraint elevated the window coverings, allowing their rich hues and dynamic forms to transform the space into a curated gallery of design and functionality. MAC EXPERIENCE CENTRE Transforming window blinds into artistic element within a thoughtfully designed layout that engages, educates and facilitates purchases. View Project Related Projects : SHARE Facebook LinkedIn X (Twitter) Copy link We began by identifying key attributes central to the brand's identity: Clean, Smart, Modern, which reflect the brand's personality and extensive product range; Customer-Centric; Advanced Production Facility; High Quality; and Trustworthy, which constitute the brand's unique selling propositions. With these attributes in focus, we developed a concept note based on our initial idea: "The space adopts an immersive approach to the display of window blinds, presenting them as more than just functional tools. Customers experience the product as an art piece that can enhance any wall or space." This concept note guided us in dividing the space into three critical zones: Excite, Engage, and Select, marking the commencement of our design process.

  • MKSK | Arth Design

An ethnic wear store in Madhya Pradesh, that combines cultural warmth, tactile materials and modern layout to enhance retail experience MKSK Store RETAIL | MADHYA PRADESH Scope : Interiors + Facade (Consultancy) Area : 2150 sqft Status : Completed in 2022 Design Team : Ayush Jagnani, Utsav Agrawal PMC : Studio Blukey Budget : Basic The brand, when they approached us, was operating a space which had a traditional ‘gaddi’ setup—one that had served them well but was now limiting their growth. They faced two key challenges: a lack of space and the need to redefine the store to attract the younger generation while retaining their loyal customer base. The brand is deeply rooted in its culture and traditions and poses a strong belief for it. These formed the basis for our approach. MKSK is a family-owned ethnic wear store established in 1980. The design intends to transform the conventional shopping experience into a modern retail narrative. The vision was to create an environment which aligns with contemporary brands and also preserves their rich heritage—appealing equally to long-time patrons and the new generation seeking style with cultural depth. The layout is organised into zones that balance product density and enhance customer interaction, seamlessly integrating cultural authenticity with modern elegance. The traditional over-the-counter and gaddi setups remain along the periphery to encourage strong interaction between the customers and staff, giving a sense of curated experience to the client. At the heart of the store is a screen serving dual purpose. Firstly, it strategically screens off the rear portion and creates a semi-enclosed space for curated and guided selections. Secondly, it doubles up as a display and makes for a unique backdrop. A combination of metal, teak and rattan, the screen brings material richness and contrast to the otherwise subdued architectural palette, allowing the vibrant textile hues to stand out. The racking system provides vertical and horizontal displays, allowing the sarees to be both hung and folded, showing a variety of texture, drapes and hues. This screen cum display element is further accentuated by the careful use of patterned flooring, a bold red ceiling pocket and handmade bamboo lamps, which add warmth and visual rhythm—completing the design that celebrates cultural identity through a modern retail lens.
